Eric graduated from the University of South Carolina with his B.A. in political science in 1998. Later, in 2003, he graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law with his Juris Doctorate. He then took some time to further his dexterity in law. In 2015, he joined forces with Wylie W. Clarkson to start their own firm, Clarkson & Hale.

Eric currently serves as the Town Attorney for the Town of Irmo, a testament to his passion and love for the community. As the Town Attorney, he is responsible for helping the Town Council with several different types of municipal concerns. One of his responsibilities involves prosecuting various criminal matters that occur.
A true master in the field of law, Eric is a certified South Carolina Mediator and is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association as well as the Richland County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the South Carolina Courts, the U.S. District Courts of South Carolina, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in South Carolina.
